Are you a contract management professional looking for an exciting new opportunity tackling environmental issues?

Joint Waste Solutions is the local authority partnership team that manages the joint waste collection and street cleaning services contract in Elmbridge, Mole Valley, Surrey Heath and Woking.

This role will support the Operations Manager in managing the waste collection and street cleansing contract by working effectively with the contractor to deliver a high level of service in compliance with the contract specification.

You will be involved in monitoring the day-to-day performance of the contract, working with the contractor to improve customer satisfaction in services, and monitoring health and safety. You will be proactive in identifying issues in these areas and work with the contractor to resolve them successfully. You will also investigate and resolve escalated complaints from residents and councillors, working closely with colleagues in our partner authorities as required.

With a broad range of work to get involved in, you can expect to have a working week which sees you split your time equally between desk-based work and being out and about in the contract area.

You’ll need excellent verbal and written communications skills, have effective interpersonal and negotiating skills, able to manage a range of projects and deliver them to deadline. The successful candidate will have knowledge in monitoring contracts and using performance management systems.

Full details of the role and person specification are included in the role profile.

Benefits of working for JWS include a minimum of 24 days annual leave (up to an additional 5 days following five years continuous local authority or other associated service), Local Government Pension Scheme and lifestyle rewards benefits. We’re committed to providing excellent training and development opportunities and we prioritise the physical and mental wellbeing of all team members. We offer flexibility to help them maintain a good work-life balance, including working from home, where appropriate to the role.
