Senior Performance and Business Intelligence Manager
Are you passionate about using data to drive improvements in public services and make a difference to the environment? Joint Waste Solutions is looking for a senior manager to lead its Performance and Business Intelligence Team.
Surrey’s 11 district and borough councils and the county council work together as the Surrey Environment Partnership to manage waste from the county’s homes and tackle other environmental issues. Since the formation of the partnership in 2009 a range of initiatives have been undertaken to reduce waste and improve recycling. As a result, Surrey has the third highest recycling rate of England’s two-tier authority areas and the partnership’s work has been recognised as ground-breaking and innovative.
Additionally, four of the councils work together to deliver waste collection and street cleaning services in their areas through a £14m joint contract which is managed by the Joint Waste Solutions team.
Now more than ever, it is vital that we use a data-driven approach to guide our strategic decision-making, provide best value to our residents and be ready for the changes and opportunities that will result from the Government’s Resources and Waste Strategy.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to analyse and interpret complex data, as well as confidently and clearly presenting results and recommendations to a range of stakeholders. They will also need to be highly organised and manage the priorities and development of a small team.
Benefits include a minimum of 25 days annual leave, Local Government Pension Scheme, free parking and lifestyle rewards benefits.
The role is an 18-month fixed term contract with the potential to become permanent.
